Northern Hemisphere:
April is spring.

Maximum vitality: naturally predisposed to intensive brood rearing and rapid colony expansion.
​Health: Very low Varroa load after winter rest.

Southern Hemisphere:
April is autumn.

End of season: Autumn bees enter a phase of winter preservation.
​Risk: Varroa load is often higher at the end of the natural cycle.

Your farm’s safety is our absolute priority. In Canada, many unsubstantiated rumors have circulated about the risk of imports from Italy: the entire European Union remains free of Tropilaelaps. Italy in particular, in response to Canadian beekeepers' concerns, has implemented a new national surveillance plan that also includes the Tropilaelaps mite. This means that not only are our apiaries regularly inspected, but the checks are extended nationwide. Every shipment is certified  by the italian authorities and inspected by the CFIA.
